The dark channel creates depth without a projecting bar across the main panel. Its width, depth and grip position need to work together: an attractive recess also has to be comfortable to reach and operate.

That design direction can be discussed. The usable grip, recess geometry and selected hardware must be reviewed together for the actual door.
Does the recessed pull replace the lock?
No. The pull is the operating grip; the locking and access arrangement is a separate part of the specification. Tell us how users should enter and exit.
Do I need finished drawings to start?
