Villa entrance doors in Saudi Arabia and the UAE – sizes, styles, climate and shipping

What to plan for a villa entrance door in Riyadh, Jeddah or Dubai: opening size, door type, summer heat, SABER documents for Saudi Arabia and shipping routes in 2026.

Short answer: plan the villa entrance door around four things: the size of the opening, the door type, summer heat and sun on the door, and how it will reach site. We make double doors up to 3,000 × 6,000 mm and pivot doors up to 4,000 × 8,000 mm in Wuyi, China, for dealers, architects, contractors and developers. Saudi imports need SABER certificates. In 2026, shipping routes to the Gulf need checking before every order.

What size and type of door suits a villa entrance?

Choose the type from the width of the opening and how people will use it.

Opening Common choice Our maximum
Wide and tall, a statement entrance Pivot door, one leaf 4,000 × 8,000 mm
Wide, with a symmetrical façade Double door, two equal leaves 3,000 × 6,000 mm
Wide, but daily use needs one light leaf Unequal double door: one narrow fixed leaf, one wide leaf 3,000 × 6,000 mm

Our Villa Double is a carved double door made for this kind of entrance. Every door is made to your drawing, from one door.

What style of face can the door have?

The face we make most is carved aluminium. We also make cast-aluminium faces, and faces in sintered stone, glass, wood or copper. On a villa, the face is often matched to the façade: a geometric or calligraphic carving, a medallion at the meeting edges, or a flat face with a long pull handle. See cast and carved aluminium faces for how each is made.

How hot does it get, and what does heat do to a door?

Summers are long and hot. The 1991–2020 averages for daily maximum temperature in July and August are:

City July August
Riyadh 43.4 °C 43.6 °C
Jeddah 39.4 °C 38.7 °C
Dubai 41.5 °C 41.9 °C

A door in direct sun gets much hotter than the air, and a dark face more than a light one. Heat ages finishes and makes materials expand. Three things help: a recess or canopy so the door is not in full afternoon sun, a finish chosen for strong UV (see coastal and high-sun finishes), and hardware rated for the site’s temperatures, especially electronic smart locks. Ask the lock maker for the operating temperature range.

What documents does Saudi Arabia need?

Aluminium doors are listed under SASO’s Technical Regulation for Doors, Windows and their Accessories, which has applied at ports since 27 June 2021. Through SABER, SASO’s online platform, the importer gets:

  1. A product certificate of conformity for the door model, issued by an approved body.
  2. A shipment certificate for each shipment, linked to that product certificate.

We provide the product documents a Saudi importer needs for SABER registration. Start this before production, because the shipment certificate is needed for clearance. For the UAE, check the requirements with your consultant and the local authority for the project.

How do doors get to the Gulf in 2026?

Check the route for every order. Since 28 February 2026 the Strait of Hormuz has been largely closed to commercial shipping, and ships off Fujairah and Khor Fakkan, on the UAE’s east coast, were attacked in March and May 2026. In the Red Sea, the Houthis declared a blockade of Saudi-linked shipping in July 2026. Before you confirm a delivery date:

  • Ask your forwarder which ports are being served for your destination, and the transit time.
  • Check what your cargo insurance covers on that route.
  • Allow extra time between our production and the date you need the door on site.

Production takes 35–45 days from drawing approval and deposit. Our villa doors for Saudi Arabia and the UAE page has the rest of the details.

Quick answers

How big can a villa entrance door be?

We make double doors up to 3,000 × 6,000 mm and pivot doors up to 4,000 × 8,000 mm, each to the drawing of the opening. The practical limit is often the opening, the hinge, wind and how the leaf travels to site.

Do doors imported into Saudi Arabia need SABER certificates?

Yes. Aluminium doors are listed under SASO's Technical Regulation for Doors, Windows and their Accessories. The importer needs a product certificate of conformity through SABER, and a shipment certificate for each shipment. We provide the product documents the importer needs for registration.

Can doors still ship to the UAE through the Strait of Hormuz?

In October 2026 the strait was effectively closed to commercial shipping, and ships off the UAE east coast had also been attacked. Ask your forwarder for the current route and insurance terms before you confirm a delivery date.
