Short answer: before you pay a deposit, check four things. The company is in China’s official business register. The factory you see on a live call is the company on your contract. The bank account belongs to that company. Your drawings and terms are in writing. Together these take about an hour, and they are worth doing with any supplier, including us.
1. Look the company up in the official register
Every Chinese company has an 18-character unified social credit code. You can search it, or the company’s Chinese name, in the National Enterprise Credit Information Publicity System, the public register run by China’s State Administration for Market Regulation. The site is in Chinese, so ask the supplier for its registered Chinese name, then check that the name, code and address match your quotation, contract and invoice.
Our details are in the footer of every page on this site: Zhejiang Jingyi Door Industry Co., Ltd., Wuyi County, Jinhua, Zhejiang, unified social credit code 91330723MACHG51YXA. Dooream is the factory’s export brand.
2. Make sure the factory on the video is the company on the contract
Many sellers of doors in China are trading companies. That is not wrong in itself, but you should know who is making your door. Ask for a live video call at a time you choose, not a recorded video, and ask to see:
- the machines that do your process, for example CNC carving, painting or assembly;
- a door in production, with a paper sign showing today’s date and your company name;
- the showroom or finished doors waiting to be crated.
We run video tours Monday to Saturday, 14:00–18:00 China time. You talk to the person who builds your door.
3. Pay only into an account in the company’s name
The deposit should go to a company bank account in the same name as the company on your contract. Be suspicious of a personal account, an account in another company’s name, or an email that says the bank details have changed. Confirm any change by phone or video with someone you have already spoken to before you send money.
4. Put the door and the terms in writing
A custom door is made from a drawing, so most disputes start with what the drawing did or did not say. Before you pay, make sure you have in writing:
- an approved drawing with the opening size, the door size, the opening direction and the pivot or hinge side;
- the face, finish, hardware brands and lock;
- the production time and when it starts (ours is 35–45 days from drawing approval and receipt of the deposit);
- what you will see before shipment, such as photographs, video or a visit by your own inspector;
- how the door is packed and the trade term, for example EXW at the factory;
- the warranty (ours covers the whole door for 2 years from the day it ships).
What if you are still unsure?
You do not have to start with a full project. A 20 × 20 cm carved and painted aluminium sample costs about USD 50, and a scaled door sample using the actual construction costs USD 800. Our minimum order is one door.
Which red flags should stop you?
- The supplier cannot or will not do a live video call of the production line.
- The company name in the register does not match the contract or the bank account.
- You are asked to pay the full amount before production, or to pay a personal account.
- The supplier refuses an inspection before shipment.
- The price is far below everyone else’s for the same size and construction.

Quick answers
How do I check if a Chinese company is registered?
Search the company's Chinese name or its 18-character unified social credit code in China's National Enterprise Credit Information Publicity System (gsxt.gov.cn), run by the State Administration for Market Regulation, and compare the record with the name on your contract and invoice.
How can I tell a door factory from a trading company?
Ask for a live video call at a time you choose and ask to see the machines that make your door, a door in production and a paper sign with today's date. A trading company usually cannot show its own production line on demand.
Who should the deposit go to?
Only to a company bank account in the same name as the company on your contract. Confirm any change of bank details by phone or video before paying.
